- Nattokinase (Plant enzyme) may break down strands
of protein called fibrin which can accumulate in blood vessels and form
clots. By doing so, it may avert angina, heart attacks or stroke. It
could lower blood pressure by reducing the viscosity of the blood. Some
clinical trials have shown that it may improve cognitive function and
prevent or slow dementia and senility.*
- Salvia Radix (dan shen) traditionally has been used
to invigorate the blood and by doing so could reduce angina pain and
pain and swelling due to blood stasis. It may relax coronary vascular
smooth muscle and increase circulation. Salvia is an analgesic and
sedative and may prolong sleep time.
- Some studies have shown that Kudzu Root extract
may regenerate hepatic cells and prevent liver cirrhosis. It also may
aid cholesterol metabolism. Additionally, some studies have shown that
Kudzu Root extract may help to lower blood pressure by
dilating coronary blood vessels, decreasing oxygen consumption and
improving cardio function. It may relax muscles, relieving tension in
neck and shoulders. It may increase blood flow to the brain, thereby
improving cognitive function. Traditionally it has been used to reduce
alcohol craving.*
A combination of kudzu root and salvia may help purify the blood, balance blood glucose and lower cholesterol in the blood.*
- Notoginseng (san qi) may activate blood
circulation and relieve pain and swelling. It may help reduce
cholesterol and help with cardiovascular disease. It may help regenerate
gastrointestinal lining and arterial walls. Some studies have shown
that it may be good for chronic hepatitis and reduce elevated liver
enzymes.*
